RAFFLES FASHION DESIGNER JANNETH CATHERINE AMARA EMERGES AS A TOP 10 INTERNATIONAL FINALIST IN SAKURA COLLECTION FASHION DESIGN AWARD 2021  

Raffles College of Higher Education is proud to share that Raffles Fashion Designer, Ms Janneth Catherine AMARA emerged as a top 10 international finalist in Sakura Collection Fashion Design Award! 

Fascinated by the Miyadaiku carpentry technique used in the construction of Japanese shrines and temples, which are renowned for their use of elaborate wooden joints in most of the world’s longest surviving wooden structures, Janneth has applied this technique in her design. Her intricate design on the skirt reflected the elaborate wooden joinery from this art of ancient Miyadaiku carpentry.
