Flights of Fantasy 

My collection is based on the concept of escapism, which is defined as seeking distraction and relief through entertainment or fantasy. To interpret this, I used hot air balloons and parachutes as inspiration since they literally enable people to float away from their worries and slowly come back down to earth. In terms of textile manipulations and colours, I incorporated arts-and-craft related methods such as embroidery and stencilling in bright, vivid tones, to represent how some people take up these activities to relax and have fun.
