TESTIMONIAL

Being a student of Master in Design Management has taught me a great deal. Applying design principles to innovative ideas enables one to open one’s mind to cutting edge concepts that are necessary in today’s world. We have learned great presentation and project management skills as well, which will be extremely useful in any future professional endeavour. Our professor Jack Liew was a fantastic teacher who encouraged and inspired us all through the programme.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

My research project is about how immersive technology is the future of the yoga industry. Here I have combined my passion of yoga and its tremendous benefits to the body and mind with the latest technology like virtual and mixed reality, which are increasingly effective tools for learning.

My report has two main sections. In the first section is the basic concept and problem identification, with the exploration of a new opportunity and a thorough literature review. The review includes an in-depth market study of the yoga industry, analysing and studying statistics, market trends and the impact of Covid-19 on the industry. This is followed by a study of immersive technologies, understanding where it stands today and the future potential. Case studies are looked at for inspiration and certain additional methodologies are used including interviews with industry experts, and a focus group. All these lead to the design solution.

The second section looks at the design and business solution based on the previous research. The business concept for a new-age, fully immersive yoga studio and online solution is studied. The design and process management covers the entire journey, from research to development to market launch.
