THE SEA-RIAL KILLER” – A SUCCESSFUL COLLABORATION BY DESIGN

Somerset by Youth SSBY – A community partnership by Raffles x 32CM thirtytwocm

Congratulations to Raffles Graphic Designers Muhammad Firas Bin AZHAR, Emelynda WIRAWAN, PARK Sojung, and Joleen LOW Soke Meng for completing the wall mural in support of the community project – Somerset by Youth SSBY! The Raffles Design team designed a six-metre-long wall mural at The Red Box to educate the public about the impact of plastic waste on marine life through their concept entitled “The Sea-rial Killer”.

Their artwork narrates the story of how plastics play the role of the serial killers in the ocean. This haunting but true storyline is meant to shake the hearts of its audience, pushing them to live a more sustainable lifestyle.

This was a seven-month long collaboration with mentorship under Visual Artist Ernest GOH from the Ayer Ayer Group. Mr Eric CHUA Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY), and Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) Singapore was the Guest-of-Honour to unveil these designs at the virtual launch.

Somerset By Youth SSBY is a partnership with the Somerset Belt supported by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY), and National Youth Council Singapore (NYC).
