CHARIOT
There were many headlines in the past about flights with severe turbulence causing nonfatal injuries. When the turbulence is undetectable, flight attendants do not have sufficient time to stow the cart back to the galley. They park the cart next to their seat or even on the aisle next to passengers and grab the nearest seat to secure themselves. In this case, the cart is unmanned and can be thrown around. It turns into a cabin hazard instantly. Meal cart made its debut in the early 1900s with the beginning of commercial flights. However, aircraft technology has been changing rapidly but not so much on the meal cart design. Introducing CHARIOT. CHARIOT is a meal cart designed with safety features. It has adjustable panel on the sides to protect items getting thrown out from the cart when turbulence occurs. Besides, it has rounder edges with foam strips as the finishing for safety reasons. Lastly, CHARIOT is made of Fibre-Reinforced Plastic (FRP) which is safer and much lighter as compared to steel and aluminium.
Testimonial
As a student at RCHE, I am very thankful for the diverse student profile as we get to share our culture, experiences and celebrate our differences. I believe a college is a place for teenagers or young adults to gather and equip themselves with knowledge and maturity before entering the next phase of life as working adults. Throughout the past two years, I was taught by many experienced lecturers with difference perspective in design as well as in life. As design students, we see stories through their designs and we are inspired by them. To everyone that I met in the past two years, from the management team to the teacher board, from the cleaners to the administration staff, thank you for making RHCE special.
